Eagle Scout projects continue to benefit Mission Viejo

The City of Mission Viejo continues to enjoy the fruit of local scouts’ labor through landscape and other projects that benefit our environment and help beautify the area.
 
The following Boy Scouts have recently completed projects that put them in line to obtain the prestigious rank of Eagle.
 
Ethan Richardson of Boy Scout Troop #772 and his merry band of volunteers planted hundreds of plants and a 15-gallon oak tree on the slope along Trabuco Road between Los Alisos and Via Madrigal.
 
For Cole Bates’ project, he rallied 40 volunteers to plant 1,000 plants in the slope area of Applegate Park behind the fire station.
 
Jeremy Jenkins of Troop #793 and his 30 volunteers planted hundreds of plants; 15 native California pepper trees; and two crepe myrtle trees along the Village Green at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center.
 
Armed with 12 volunteers, Shady Ibrahim of Troop #659 prepped, cleaned and painted 400 linear feet of rail fence along the Oso Creek Trail.
 
Corban Procuniar of Troop #767 organized 35 volunteers to plant several hundred drought-tolerant plants on Muirlands Boulevard between Troy and Ares streets.
 
With 26 volunteers in tow, Scott Cummings of Troop #1602 enhanced the landscaping on Muirlands Boulevard between Alicia Parkway and La Paz Road with hundreds of plants and 10 trees.

Like a master conductor, Henry Richardson led about 25 volunteers in planting 500 plants and 10 trees on the slope area of Via Burgos Street.
 
Tyler Keene of Troop #718 and his 47 volunteers planted 1,000 drought-tolerant plants on the slope of Applegate Park.
 
For his Eagle Scout project, Jed Richardson of Troop #768 and 25 volunteers spent a recent Saturday planting 750 plants and seven trees on the slope along Via Burgos Street.

Trevor Jones and Michael Workman both of Troop # 793 spent a recent fall day working side by side on a landscape and planting project at El Dorado Park. The scouts and 50 volunteers planted 1,400 plants on a large slope area at the park.
