Embrace nature and benefit our environment by volunteering during annual Earth Day and Arbor Day celebration

people planting and digging

Volunteers are sought to help benefit our environment during the City’s annual Earth Day and Arbor Day celebration on Saturday, April 22.

Volunteers will have the chance to embrace nature by planting trees and shrubs along the section of Oso Creek Trail that is north of Jeronimo Road with a planting and Green Expo from 8 am to noon. Participants should wear a hat, gloves, boots and sunscreen. Lunch and ice cream will be available for volunteers while supplies last.

Along with the planting, the City is hosting a Green Expo in the open space beside Oso Creek Trail (north of Jeronimo Road) that will feature earth-friendly activities and environmental exhibits with tips on pollution prevention, recycling and more.

Parking will be available at Newhart Middle School and on the Village Green at the Norman P. Murray Community Center. Complimentary golf cart shuttle service will be provided between parking areas and event location.

To pre-register as a volunteer for this event, fill out an application and waiver form and email it to Vicky Anderson at vanderson@cityofmissionviejo.org.  For more information, see this flyer.

I am a Mission Viejo resident who has 180 potted Agave plants to donate for FREE.
They were potted by my husband from seeds that came off of four 10 foot stalks rising from our dying aged agave succulent plants. We originally had around 300 plants & advertised on Next Door App & Facebook. When people stopped coming for them, I contacted the Mission Viejo Garden Club. They will take a few, but recommended I contact you to donate for the Oso Creek Trail, or any other MV City landscaping. I can provide photos if that helps in your decision. We can transport the plants to any location you wish.
Please let me know what you decide.
Thank You
