July 4th Street Faire and Fireworks Spectacular

july 4

Celebrate Independence Day in grand style with the Mission Viejo Activities Committee at its annual July 4th Street Faire & Fireworks Spectacular.

The fun takes place on Tuesday, July 4 on Olympiad between Marguerite Parkway and Melinda Road from noon to 9 pm.

Enjoy live entertainment, rides, delectable fare from food trucks, and games for the whole family. You can also shop more than 30 booths with craft and gift ideas.

At 9 pm, the sky will light up over Mission Viejo with a spectacular fireworks show.

Admission is free, and tickets are available for games and rides.

The City is encouraging residents to go green and save gas by biking to the event. Bicycles are not permitted in the street faire, but bike racks will be provided and located at the end of each entrance to the closed enclosure at Melinda and the Lake entrance.

A free shuttle operates from 1 to 8 pm. Shuttle stops are located at 12 marked locations around Lake Mission Viejo. No pets, skateboards, rollerblades, bicycles or grills are allowed within the street closures.

It might have been a good idea to extend the shuttle until 10 PM to accommodate fireworks viewers to get home safely.

While I appreciate shuttles helping people get to the event from further afield locations, why would you not operate return shuttles after the fireworks?

Can the fireworks be seen from Trabuco Hills high school? I’m curious if I will be able to see them from my yard.

Thank you for your comments on the News page. There will be parking spaces on the ballfield side of the street near the Lake Entrance to be designated and posted as handicapped parking stalls. The shuttles are wheelchair accessible. The Street Faire takes place from noon to 9 pm, with the fireworks at 9.

Enjoy the event!

You really can't see the fireworks very well from Trabuco Hills HS. There are too many hills between the high school and where they are shot off. I live in between the HS and Del Lago Elementary, and you only see a portion of them. If you go to top of Vista Del Lago, you should have a great view without the crowds.

Amazing fireworks show today! This has been the best show yet, especially the ending. Thank you to everyone who worked hard to put it together. We truly appreciate you!
