Sibling dogs deserve a forever home together
Bitzen and his sister Gigi were relinquished by their owner to Mission Viejo Animal Services Center in July.
The family faced some changes that made it impossible to keep the dogs, and the owner knew the 2 ½-year-old pups deserved a chance to find a loving home together.
One reason the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center exists is to help people who may be forced to make a tough decision about keeping their pets. Since the dogs are deeply bonded, our staff promised to keep them together. When not together, Bitzen and Gigi become anxious and worried and only pep up when reunited.
The dogs were purchased from a breeder as puppies sold as Petit Basset Griffon Vendeens (PBGV), a rare breed that looks like a furry Basset Hound. Although Gigi looks like a typical PBGV, Bitzer appears more like a traditional Basset Hound. They are sweet, happy and charming dogs. Their previous owner describes them as playful pups that crave attention and love being cuddled by their family members.
