How to vote in Orange County in the 2024 Presidential General Election

For the upcoming 2024 Presidential General Election, Vote-by-Mail ballots will be delivered to the U.S. Post Office on October 7. Early voting begins and Ballot Drop Boxes will be unlocked on this day as well.

Registered voters in Mission Viejo and throughout Orange County have several voting options they can use to cast their ballot for the Presidential General Election. Voters can return their ballot by mail or at one of the countywide Ballot Drop Boxes or an Orange County Vote Center. Voters can also cast a ballot in person at a Vote Center. Learn more about your voting options at ocvote.gov/voting.

Thirty-eight Vote Centers open on October 26 (find Mission Viejo locations here). An additional 146 Vote Centers will open on November 2 for the last four days of voting including Election Day. At a Vote Center, you can vote, update your registration, register to vote, get a replacement ballot, or receive general assistance. Find a Vote Center near you and view live wait times at ocvote.gov/votecenter.

Certainly lots of convenience to accommodate voters: "At a Vote Center, you can vote, update your registration, register to vote, get a replacement ballot, or..." What measures are or better yet will be in place to ensure
1. this last minute "update your voter registration" is valid
2. and for the really [irresponsible] last minute wanna-be voters, allowing registration -- and then presumably a ballot both of which defy credulity unless registrant validation is a priori. Although I seriously question the efficacy of [and unnecessary burden] if "provisional ballots is the answer.

The City's accommodations are great, yet I wonder how in this day and age where even the remotest reaches of the world know we have an upcoming election that some may see voting not as privilege granted but rather an entitlement that MUST be accommodated....or worse yet to be bartered or taken advantage of.
