POD Exercise is all about preparedness and pumpkins

=""

The City of Mission Viejo will take part in the Orange County Health Care Agency’s first multi-city Point of Dispensing (POD) Exercise from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. October 18 at the Great Park in Irvine.

This disaster exercise will test the ability of South Orange County cities and the Health Care Agency to work together in dispensing mass amounts of medication to the public in a pandemic.

Mission Viejo residents will receive free disaster preparedness items and a small pumpkin rather than medication.

This event was extremely disappointing. The signage was poorly done, as confirmed by the long line of cars in front and behind ours who went to the wrong parking area, actually the wrong side of the lot. The “disaster preparedness items” was a flash drive with a bunch of, admittedly informative, pdf files and a flyer for some other police event. I hope they got whatever data they needed.
