Two Mission Viejo soccer teams advancing to Western States Championship Tournament

Two Mission Viejo soccer teams will compete in the Western States Championship tournament on March 17 after clinching two area and regional championship tournaments.

The ascent to victory for AYSO Region 84 Champion Cup winners - G12 Dynamite and B10 Bruins - came after winning the AYSO Area L Championship, encompassing 10 regions in south Orange County and, most recently, the AYSO Section 11 Tournament. G12 Dynamite and B10 Bruins competed against teams from throughout Southern California.

The winning streaks for both teams stem from talented players, teamwork and great coaching from Anthony Grunauer of the girls' soccer team and Stelios Chrisopoulos leading the boys.

The City of Mission Viejo is proud of the players, coaches and parents and wishes these two teams the best of luck in the Bakersfield-based Western States Championship on March 17.

I recently returned from Calif and witnessed the play of Dynomite the girls team which my granddaughter Kelsey Sundol plays on and was very impressed with the play of all the girls. I had to return to PA but I am sure my son will keep me informed of the teams progress. Naturally, I wish them all the best.
