Be a Superhero by volunteering during annual Symphony in the Cities July 22

group of volunteers

If you have a passion for fun and a penchant for giving back, consider volunteering during the City’s annual Symphony in the Cities and Prelude in the Park event on Saturday, July 22.

Boasting a “Superhero” theme this year, the popular event is from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Oso Viejo Community Park on the Village Green and neighboring community center, 24932 Veterans Way.

Patrons will enjoy fun family activities for all ages; tasty fare; gourmet food trucks; and a wine and beer garden.  Leading up to the grand Pacific Symphony concert at 7 p.m. is a musical playground for kids that includes a “conducting” clinic with the talented Maestro St.Clair.

Shuttle service is available from the Civic Center or concertgoers can get a healthy dose of exercise by riding their bikes to the event.

Volunteers are sought to fill an array of roles – including assisting with the conducting clinic – and will work from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. (Volunteers must be at least 15 years old.)

For more information and to volunteer, call 949-470-8440.

We do try to avoid scheduling conflicts as much as possible, but the date for the Symphony is selected months in advance, and we have to work with their availability, as well as the availability of our venue. Unfortunately, it's not always possible to find a date with no conflicts.

I would have gladly volunteered, and would have loved to attend the Symphony in the Cities event, but Chris Isaak is in concert at Lake Mission Viejo that evening and I had already made plans to attend that concert. Is there any effort made to avoid conflicts in the Lake concerts and the symphony events?
