Volunteers sought for Orange County's Point in Time Homeless Count

""

The City of Mission Viejo is joining other cities across the county in encouraging residents to volunteer for Orange County's Point in Time Homeless Count and Survey on Wednesday, January 23.

The biennial Point In Time homeless count will provide the county with updated numbers and demographics on the homeless population to help guide its response to the growing issue.

The public can volunteer to work as team captains, field surveyors, deployment center support, photographers and videographers. People can also donate hygiene kits that will be distributed during the census.

Training sessions will be held in Mission Viejo at 9 a.m. January 12; 6:30 p.m. January 16; and 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on January 17 at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way.

To volunteer and for more information, visit everyonecountsoc.org.

I live in San Diego and because of transportation issues I won't be able to contribute to this great Orange County service activity.

My question is simple: does anyone there know of any comparable program anywhere in San Diego County?

The Point In Time count is being conducted across the country during the last ten days of January. The San Diego Regional Tasks Force on Homelessness is coordinating the Point In Time Count in San Diego. You can learn more about their efforts and how to get involved by visiting -https://www.rtfhsd.org/get-involved/

Hi!
My husband is a professional videographer and I’m a professional photographer. We would love to hear more about how we can help.

I am interested in volunteering, and would love to support this effort to reach out to the community.
