Expanded Senior Dial-A-Taxi program rolls out Feb. 1
In an effort to better serve our senior population, the City has expanded its Senior Dial-A-Taxi Program to offer even more convenient locations to get folks where they need to go.
Beginning February 1, along with current 24/7 service in Mission Viejo and Laguna Hills, the Senior Dial-A-Taxi will feature trips to Lake Forest, Laguna Woods, Rancho Santa Margarita and transport to Kaiser in Irvine. Customer cost is $5 per one-way trip. Seniors can also obtain a ride to John Wayne Airport for $20.
With the expanded program, riders can now enjoy FREE round-trip service from their homes to all City facilities, the community center, City Hall, library, animal shelter, Sierra Recreation Center, Felipe Tennis & Recreation Center, Montanoso Recreation Center, Marguerite Tennis Pavilion and Casta Del Sol Golf Course.
To qualify for the program, which is provided by California Yellow Cab, participants must be 60 or older, live in Mission Viejo and be able to travel independently or bring a caregiver. Registered riders can bring up to two extra people on the same fare. The program provides basic transportation and doesn’t include transportation for medical therapy appointments such as chemotherapy, dialysis or for surgery.
Applications for the program are available online, at the Norman P. Murray Center or can be sent by mail. For more information, call 949-470-3062.

Regarding the Senior Dial-A…
Regarding the Senior Dial-A-Taxi Program Application and Waiver Form, I would encourage consideration of moving the "completed application in BLUE pen" from the next-to-the-last-word on the entire application to the front of page one of the form(s). Thank you, Scott Pursell
