women in presentation

Mark your calendar for Saturday, February 22 for an important presentation dubbed “Stop Human Trafficking.”

Sponsored by the American Association of University Women (AAUW) Mission Viejo/Saddleback Valley; AAUW Interbranch Council - Orange County; Mission Viejo Chamber of Commerce; and the City, the free program is from 10 am - 12 pm at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way.

Human trafficking involves the use of force, fraud or coercion to obtain some type of labor or commercial sex act. Every year, millions of men, women and children are trafficked worldwide. You will learn about preventing human trafficking in the region and what you can do to help victims.

The program will feature experts including Jeff Jensen of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department;  Kathie Perino of the Anti-Human Trafficking Initiative of Saddleback Church; Lauri Burns, CEO of Vera’s Sanctuary and Director of The Teen Project; and Sandra Morgan, RN, PhD, Director of the Global Center for Women and Justice as well as a member of the White House Public-Private Partnership Advisory Council to End Human Trafficking.

For more information, contact program organizer Karen Dennis at aauwmvsv@gmail.com.

Our United Methodist women's group would be interested in your program. Do you have literature available to present at a meeting? We would also like to attend your February event. Thank you.
