What residential tenants should know about protection from eviction

The Fair Housing Council of Orange County has compiled a comprehensive summary of protections for residential tenants who are can’t pay rent because of the COVID-19 national state of emergency. 

The summary includes information about Governor Gavin Newsom’s recent orders as well as emergency rules adopted by the California Judicial Council.  The summary is designed to help residents preserve their rights and fulfill their obligations.  In addition, the City of Mission Viejo adopted emergency regulations in the interest of public peace, health and safety, which are detailed in this ordinance

The Fair Housing Council works to protect the quality of life in Orange County by ensuring equal access to housing opportunities, fostering diversity and preserving dignity and human rights.
