Assemblyman Bill Brough and Senator Pat Bates are inviting local parents to a Drug Awareness Night on October 2 that will focus on the rapid increase of opioid and heroin addiction in Orange County.

The event takes place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the San Juan Hills High School Performing Arts Center at 29211 Stallion Ridge in San Juan Capistrano.

Mission Hospital Valiant Women will host the THINK PINK Breast Health Wall of Honor this October to create awareness for the importance of mammograms and raise funds to support diagnostic care and breast cancer treatment for the underserved.

In its 15th straight year, the event encourages community members to honor breast cancer patients and survivors through a collection of tributes on the Wall of Honor, located on the lower level at The Shops at Mission Viejo.

Port Aransas is a city on Mustang Island on the Texas coast. It's known for its Gulf of Mexico beaches and fish-filled waterways. Port Aransas was among those cities, where the storm roared ashore with 130 mph winds and wreaked havoc on everything from homes to boats to businesses and Brundrett Middle School.

Sport your slap bracelets and plaid shirts and head to the Civic Center Saddleback Room at 6 p.m. for two hours of nostalgic bliss.

The trivia will test your fondness for that decade that brought us No Doubt, “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” and Beanie Babies. Prizes will be awarded for the top scoring teams.
