Notice is hereby given that the City of Mission Viejo anticipates receiving approximately $413,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for Fiscal Year 2019-2020. The primary objective of the CDBG Program is "the development of viable urban communities by providing decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expanding economic opportunities, principally for persons of low- and moderate-income."
The City is seeking applications to fill vacancies on its Planning and Transportation Commission, Community Services Commission and Investment Advisory Commission.
The Council-appointed commissions are comprised of five members, apart from the Community Services Commission with seven members including two senior citizen members. The City Council will appoint commission members for 2-year terms at the January 8 Council meeting.
The Community Services Commission will host its next meeting at 6 p.m. on December 18 after canceling its November 20 meeting due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
The Committee, which acts as an advisory board to the City Council, will resume its regularly scheduled meetings on Tuesday, January 15 in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 200 Civic Center.

Designed to highlight local businesses, the event is from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Mission Viejo Village Center at Marguerite Parkway and La Paz Road.
