New York Times bestselling author Yangsze Choo will make a special appearance in the popular Writers Present Series on Wednesday, January 29. The program is at 7 pm in the Mission Viejo Council Chamber, 200 Civic Center Drive.  

Choo will discuss her upcoming paperback release “The Night Tiger,” which was selected as a Reese Witherspoon Hello Sunshine Book Club Pick and was a New York Times instant bestseller.

If you want to see, feel and learn about an important part of our nation’s history, head to the Mission Viejo Library to “Find the Pilgrim in You.”

Calling all parents of kids in grades 1-6: Join us at 6:30 pm Thursday, January 30 in the City Hall Saddleback Room to learn strategies that will build your child’s literacy skills and boost their reading confidence! Led by reading specialist Carol Lloyd, this interactive workshop will provide you with practical tips and tricks for helping your child develop a lifelong love of literacy.

While you are in the workshop, your child can participate in a hands-on STEM activity in the Library’s Storytime Room.

The Mission Viejo Library and Palmia Literary Groups are teaming up to host the 6:30 pm program at the Palmia Clubhouse, 21455 Monterey.

Join author and historian Ariana Neumann as she discusses her memoir, When Time Stopped, diving into the secrets of her father’s past: years spent hiding in plain sight in war-torn Berlin, the annihilation of dozens of family members in the Holocaust, and the courageous choice to build anew.
