The Mission Viejo Library and the Southern California Writers Association (SCWA) will host New York Times #1 international bestselling author Gregg Hurwitz on Saturday, May 20.

The event begins at 10 am in the City Hall Council Chamber at 200 Civic Center.

Hurwitz has written 24 thrillers including the popular “Orphan X” series. His novels have won numerous literary awards and have been published in 33 languages. Additionally, he’s written screenplays and television scripts for many of the major studios and television networks.

Avid readers and book club groups are invited to join our fun and engaging Penguin Random House reps, Steve and Wade, as they discuss their newest book releases to get you through the summer.

Join culinary professional and local bestselling author George Geary as he discusses his newest book “LA’s Landmark Restaurants” at 2 pm on Sunday, April 30 in the City Hall Council Chamber at 200 Civic Center. 

“LA’s Landmark Restaurants” focuses on legacy past and present family-owned restaurants. With an array of cuisines from Long Beach to the Valley, the region boasts a cornucopia of delectable establishments. 

Encourage movement and mindfulness while practicing yoga on the lawn with your little one. All abilities welcome. Please bring a mat or a towel.

Yoga instructor Gina Velez, The Yogina, will demonstrate poses caregivers and preschoolers can do together, read a story, and lead a group activity that supports social-emotional learning.
