Mission Viejo has always been innovative with its advertising campaigns. From the earliest development in the late 1960s through to Cityhood in 1988, the Mission Viejo Company has always found ways to promote and market Mission Viejo.

Slogans like “The California Promise”, and “It’s Nice to have Mission Viejo Around the House” are just a couple examples of memorable marketing.

Here are some examples of different print ads and billboards that were used to promote Mission Viejo.

An inspirational art exhibit - featuring work created by an inspirational group of young artists - is currently on display at the Mission Viejo Library.

These talented students from kindergarten through high school have recently been lauded by the O.C. Fair art contest, Imaginology art contest, International Children's Art Contest, Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, California Coastal Art Contest, Mission Viejo's Arts Alive and many more.  

Alan Brennert's 2003 novel "Moloka'i" was a book club phenomenon that became a national bestseller and captivated hundreds of thousands of readers. Brennert returns to Mission Viejo on March 6 for a 7 p.m. Writers Present program with his much-anticipated sequel "Daughter of Moloka'i." 

Don't miss a special appearance by author and early literacy specialist Tom Leveen on Wednesday, February 20 for a unique and interactive Storytime.

The fun begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Friends Storytime Room at the Mission Viejo Library as Leveen presents an engaging reading for children, while also providing insight for folks to learn how to bring Storytime home for the whole family.

Beau L'Amour, son of the iconic western writer Louis L'Amour, will join popular audiobook narrator Scott Brick and actor Jason Culp for a special presentation in Mission Viejo on Sunday, February 10.

How did Mission Viejo become the "California Promise?"  Join former Mayor Robert D. Breton for this timeless tale in a special presentation on Sunday, January 27.

The Library's History Lecture Series returns in 2019, commencing with this entertaining and informative account at 3 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chamber, 200 Civic Center.
