Los Angeles Angels' pitcher Patrick Sandoval will serve as the keynote speaker for the 34th Annual Walk Against Drugs on Saturday, October 15 in Mission Viejo. 

With a "Strike Out Drugs" theme, this event unites the City and Sheriff's Department with local schools, businesses and community groups to share an important message of staying drug, alcohol, tobacco and vape free with students and families. 

You can dispose of your unwanted, used or expired prescription medications during the drive-through National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, October 29 at Mission Viejo City Hall.  

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.

In an effort to educate and keep residents safe, Mission Viejo Police Services is hosting a free Home and Personal Safety Seminar at 1 pm on September 15 at the Norman P. Murray Center, 24932 Veterans Way. 

Led by Crime Prevention Specialist Timory McElwain, the seminar will focus on home and personal safety as well as crime trends and situational awareness. Folks will have the chance to ask questions after the presentation.

The event starts at 8 am and kicks off with a rally at Mission Viejo High School, 25025 Chrisanta Drive. 

Starting at the high school, attendees will walk two miles down La Paz Road, through the Oso Creek trail and end at Oso Viejo Park by the Norman P. Murray Community Center, 24932 Veterans Way.
