Mission Viejo Police Services and the City are seeking volunteers for the new Trail Ambassador Program (TAP).
Join Mission Viejo Police Services and California Highway Patrol for a Bicycle Safety Rodeo on Friday, May 17 from 3:30-5:30 pm at the North Paseo at LOS OSOS, 25282 Marguerite Parkway. Participants will have the opportunity to ride through a non-competitive skills course consisting of stations designed to help build safe riding abilities.
All Orange County residents are welcome. E-bikes are welcome. Helmets are required. Ages 5-17.
You can dispose of your unwanted, used or expired prescription medications during National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, April 22 at Mission Viejo City Hall.
The event is from 10 am to 2 pm at 200 Civic Center.

The Orange County Sheriff's Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration will host a National Prescription Medication Take-Back Day on Saturday, April 22 from 10 am to 2 pm in the Mission Viejo City Hall parking lot at 200 Civic Center.
You can drive through and drop off unwanted, unused, or expired prescription medications for proper disposal. It is free and anonymous.
No liquids, needles, sharps, or pressure canisters will be accepted. No need to remove medications from the original packaging and containers.

Hop on your bikes and join us for “Coffee with a Cop†at the North Paseo on Wednesday, April 5 at 5 pm. Members from the Mission Viejo Police Services bike team will lead participants on a sunset bike ride around the City trails where we will discuss bike safety education and other related topics. OCSD is collaborating with Providence Mission Hospital Trauma Services, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and High Ground Coffee House to encourage all bike riders to join us for this fun educational event. We hope to see you there!

Enjoy a free hot cup of coffee provided by High Ground Coffee House at the Paseo while chatting with Mission Viejo Police Services staff. Members of the Sheriff's Department's bike team will then lead participants on a sunset bike ride around City trails where deputies will discuss bike safety and other related educational topics.

Orange County Sheriff’s deputies at 4:44 pm on March 21 were dispatched to the 27000 block of Ruisenor in the City of Mission Viejo due to a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies detained a suspect, evacuated the house, and discovered a 22-year-old man who sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was identified as Noah Christian Aguilar from Mission Viejo. Aguilar was pronounced deceased by the Orange County Fire Authority at the scene. The suspect and victim were roommates.

Deputy Michael Murphy was recently honored as the Saddleback Valley Elks Lodge Deputy of the Year.
Selected for the honor by Mission Viejo Police Services, Deputy Murphy began his career with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department in 2017.
After graduating from the Sheriff’s Academy, Deputy Murphy was assigned to the Intake and Release Center. His exceptional work ethic, maturity, and optimistic attitude became contagious, and his supervisors quickly recognized his lead-by-example approach and how he improved the moral of peers.
Mission Viejo Police Services will host a Home & Personal Safety Seminar on Tuesday, February 7 at the Mission Viejo Swim and Racquet Club at 26221 Tierra Circle.
Crime Prevention Specialist Timory McElwain will lead the discussion, which begins at 6 pm, on crime trends, home and personal safety and situational awareness.
The seminar is designed to heighten public safety awareness and provide residents the tools necessary to better protect themselves and their property.
