A strong Santa Ana wind condition is expected to continue through the weekend, prompting a reminder for residents to be prepared. Along with fire danger, wind gusts in excess of 40 mph could cause downed trees and power lines and flying debris, which could lead to power outages, damage to buildings and vehicles.

To enhance the Oso Creek Trail, the City will make asphalt repairs through Friday to a stretch of the trail from Marguerite Parkway to Arbolitos.

The work entails closing portions of the trail while improvements are made. Signage alerting the public is posted along the trail.

The first phase of the project efforts, which will take about 30 days to complete, will focus on removing the invasive non-native vegetation that has over-populated the creek to leave it in its natural state with native plants.
