A stretch of the Oso Creek Trail that closed for emergency repairs in February has reopened ahead of schedule.

Heavy rains had eroded a section of the creek banks next to the trail and threatened sewer and water infrastructure pipes. The Oso Creek Trail closure had extended from the eastern end of the Celebration Garden continuing east to the bridge over the creek and to the rear of the Village Green.

The closure was expected to last until May 1, but the City completed the slope repairs early.

Hop aboard the MV Shuttle! From the Norman P. Murray Community Center to the Metrolink Train station and many places in between, the MV Shuttle gets you where you want to go for FREE. Students, seniors, adults and kids alike have been taking advantage of this convenient shuttle service to get to Saddleback College, Mission Hospital, Capistrano Valley High School, The Shops at Mission Viejo and other locations since the City rolled it out last fall.

The City of Mission Viejo is seeking exhibitors for its annual Green Expo on Saturday, April 22.

Exhibitors with an environmental product, service or message to share with the community are invited to take part in the expo as part of the City’s Earth Day/Arbor Day event.

The City’s annual celebration attracts hundreds of volunteers who plant trees and shrubs along Los Alisos Boulevard near Mustang Run.  The Green Expo on Mustang Run features earth-friendly activities and environmental exhibits with tips on water conservation, pollution prevention and recycling.

If you have an old computer, hard drive, TV or other electronic device, drop it off at Mission Viejo City Hall on Saturday, January 21 for a good cause.
