The winners of the Inaugural Halloween and Fall Home Decorating Contest have been announced, so grab your family and hop in your car for a spooky good time.

Hosted by the Mission Viejo Activities Committee, the contest featured residents competing for forever bragging rights and recognition in categories that include Best Theme, Most Creative, Best Special Effects, Scariest and Pumpkin-Tastic.

Voting is underway for the City's 5th annual Scarecrow Contest, which called for businesses and nonprofit organizations to design and create a scarecrow for display at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center.

Things are getting spooky at the Kaleidoscope during the Haunt of Halloween every Thursday through Sunday. This terrifying haunted attraction unmasks the true spirit of Halloween that will have you coming back for more. 

The event, which runs through October 31, features a haunted maze, interactive scare zone, face-your-fears attraction, up-close horror pop up, thriller workshop, and makeovers by Hollywood special-effects makeup artists from Cinema Makeup School. Bring your friends to share the screams and watch your back as you make your way through the scary maze. 

Help Marines and their families at Camp Pendleton celebrate Halloween this season by donating a pumpkin through the Haunt of Halloween.

The Marines and Sailors Adoption Committee joins forces with the Mission Viejo Community Foundation, City, residents, organizations and businesses to provide year-round support to Marines and Sailors of Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division.  The Battalion includes more than 1,200 Marines and Sailors.

The countdown is underway to the Fall Jam Concert in the Garden on October 22.

Held in The Kershaw Garden nestled between City Hall and the Mission Viejo Library, the concert is from 6 to 9 pm, with recommended chair placement beginning at 5 pm.

The event will feature the popular Family Style Band taking center stage at 7 pm. Concertgoers will also savor delicious fare from gourmet food trucks - Xclusive (Mexican food); Rolling Sushi Van; Burning Buns; and Ms. Debbie's Ice Cream Truck.
