Recreation

The City of Mission Viejo is now offering new live, interactive online enrichment classes for elementary school-aged students.

The fun-filled online classes are designed to give kids (18 months to 11 years) the chance to explore fun, social and safe learning experiences.

From cartooning, computer programming, geography and wacky science to cooking, mock trial, public speaking and Spanish, the affordable classes led by highly trained instructors give kids the chance to learn something new while having a blast.

The City and Jewish Federation & Family Services of Orange County are recognizing Holocaust Remembrance Day (or Yom HaShoah) on Tuesday, April 21 by livestreaming an interview with a 90-year-old Auschwitz survivor. The interview begins at 3:30 pm and can be viewed live on the City's website or on YouTube.

In an effort to support Mission Viejo seniors, the City is launching new “Wellness Checks” for seniors and people with disabilities.

The program includes a scheduled weekly call to check-in, provide resources, answer questions, share ideas or simply say “hello.” City staff will call seniors and people with disabilities every Monday through Friday on their preferred day and time between 9 am and 5 pm.  A relative can request the service on behalf of someone, but the participant can opt-out at any time, if desired.

To benefit people of all ages, the City developed a one-stop-shop for you to find virtual options to stay fit, active and entertained while quarantined at home.
