Alicia Parkway slope landscape rehabilitation begins this month
As part of its ongoing efforts to keep Mission Viejo beautiful, the City will continue its arterial landscape slope renovation efforts along Alicia Parkway beginning the week of May 8.
The work, which begins at the east end of Alicia Parkway at Marguerite Parkway and continues west to Trabuco Road, entails removing and replacing old, declining vegetation with drought-tolerant maintenance-friendly shrubs and ground covers. Irrigation systems will also be renovated, and select trees will be removed where necessary.
Residents living near the slopes have been notified of the renovation effort, which follows completed landscape slope improvements along Marguerite Parkway. The work will continue through October.

I applaud the City for their continued landscape improvement projects along main roads in Mission Viejo. I've been especially interested in seeing Alicia Parkway improved between Trabuco and Marguerite, as this strip of roadway leads to our very beautiful Lake Mission Viejo, and I'm thrilled that the time is now! Your continued landscape improvements have been stellar and these improvements have made Mission Viejo stand out as one of the most attractive communities in south Orange County. Bravo!

I hope consideration will be given to replacing the Eucalyptus trees that are a nuisance on our properties along Alicia (invasive roots, leaves) and hazard (fall hazard and fire).

I couldn't agree more with Tom H. Please remove the Eucalyptus trees! They are a huge nuisance on our properties along Trabuco & Alicia. During the wind we had last year they towered over my home and sounded like they were going to snap. I don't need a tree coming through my roof and injuring a loved one!!!
I have been living in…
I have been living in Mission Viejo for 20 years. The landscape looks like HELL! I have never seen so many beautiful trees cut down for NO APPARENT REASON. There is a crew cutting down 2 of the oldest trees next to Trabuco Hills High School! So Sad! The person in charge obviously DOES NOT reside in Mission Viejo. The hillsides have been raped! Mission Viejo is losing its oldest shading trees to NOTHING!
The Landscape Developer needs to asks the residence their opinion before tearing down the flora and fauna of the city!!!!!!
Could you please check the…
Could you please check the tree on Marguerite Pkwy right by the Elks Lodge, street side? I see it seems to be leaning more than usual and I’d feel terrible if I didn’t say something.
Thank you for your continued, great job of keeping our city looking so well kept and beautiful!
