What is the REAL purpose for…
What is the REAL purpose for this meeting? Will the city attorney be billing the City? There have already been numerous press releases by the City explaining why at-large elections have been abandoned.
If the purpose is to educate the community, then why not create a website and post all the briefs from the three election lawsuits?
This Council gave themselves the right to retain their seats beyond their two-year elected term. Let the residents read the briefs and make its own determination if the Council had that authority to remain in office or not.
Trish Kelley wrote in her Truth Detector website that the judge ignored his own prior language and ordered Districts 2 and 4 to run this year instead of 2024. Would the public agree, if they had access to the legal documents?
This meeting better not become a reelection event for the current council members, with the city attorney praising the council for its heroic attempts, as well as another platform to control public opinion and push a narrative.
