City assisting businesses, restaurants during pandemic and other news

ziggis

In an effort to support local businesses and restaurants during the pandemic, the City is granting Temporary Use Permits (TUP) for the use of portions of shopping center parking and common areas to allow for increased outdoor dining and other commercial-related activities.

Restaurants and property owners can obtain a TUP by contacting the Community Development Department at cd@cityofmissionviejo.org or 949-470-3053. The program is free. City permits are issued when the appropriate health and safety guidelines are in place. Some Mission Viejo eateries that obtained TUPs for outdoor dining include Hacienda La Joya, Broken Yolk, Koko Sushi and Don Gustavo’s Restaurant.

As California reopens, every business must create a safer, low-risk environment. Business owners must follow the State’s recent guidance to protect workers and customers. Along with outdoor dining, there are guidelines for hair salons and barbers and other personal care services such as nail salons

In other business news, Ziggi’s Coffee opened its first California location in Mission Viejo at 27525 Puerta Real, Ste. 500. The new café serves up a wide array of drinks ranging from traditional and specialty coffee favorites to frozen blenders and fruit smoothies.

The business started as a small coffee shop in downtown Longmont, Colorado in 2004 and has grown to multiple drive-through and coffeehouse locations across the country.  For more information, visit https://www.ziggiscoffee.com

I’d rather take my chances with COVID then sit in a parking lot, unprotected waiting for someone to mistake the go pedal for the stop pedal. I’m really surprised the city allows unprotected seating areas within parking lots. Sad part is the business next door had someone drive through their wall less than a year ago.

I love Mission Viejo.
Amidst the Covid madness, Mission Viejo has stood tall in assisting to keep the community safe, “operating“, and hopeful during these trying times. I commend those responsible and involved. Their directions were not fear-based, but based on the known facts and common sense with the intention of HELPING, while abiding with the State mandates , which may or may not have be made in the same manner. This provides respect for the individual’s choice and decision making in their own welfare. Thank you.
Resident since 1978.
