City Council meeting included 2022 goals and important proclamation
During the City Council's first meeting of the year on Tuesday, Mayor Wendy Bucknum presented her sentiments and goals for 2022.
The meeting, which was held via Zoom, also focused on proclaiming January as "Sex Trafficking Awareness Month" and recognizing the efforts of those who work to save lives and bring an end to human trafficking. To support the designation, Mission Viejo Civic Center is adorned in blue lights. The color blue signifies a national public awareness campaign designed to educate the public, law enforcement and other industry partners to recognize the indicators of human trafficking. See Tuesday's presentation.
The City Council meets at 6 pm on second and fourth Tuesday of the month. Meetings are streamed live and air on Cox Channel 30 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99.

Under the topic of City…
Under the topic of City Council Meeting, I thought it was strange that the fact that Three Council Members are being sued to be removed from office was not mentioned. Realize that this is a feel good publication controlled by the City Council but, I for one, thought that was a significant development. In fact the City Attorney made careful comments about the lawsuit trying to calm the city council members and community.
