Deputy Casey Briggs is Mission Viejo Police Services' Employee of the Year

Deputy Casey Briggs has been named Mission Viejo Police Services' 2023 Employee of the Year.  

An 8-year employee of the Orange County Sheriff's Department, Deputy Briggs is known for his outstanding work ethic, tenacity and dedication to serving this community.   

He currently serves as a Behavioral Health Bureau Deputy for the City. The position was created to provide specialized services to people in the community who suffer from various mental health concerns. Deputy Briggs has specialized training for encounters with people dealing with mental illness and is extremely proficient in providing services to the homeless population. 

Along with proactively supporting the community, Deputy Briggs actively collaborates with City staff to identify and offer the most relevant services to folks in need. In fact, his active engagement with City staff highlights his commitment to leveraging resources to ensure the best possible support for those he serves. It's this type of work that has led to many success stories in our community. 

"Deputy Briggs' ability to bridge the gap between the local community and City services underscores his dedication to holistic support," said Captain Chris McDonald, Chief of Police Services. "Through his efforts, he's been instrumental in facilitating positive changes and meaningful transformations in the lives of many individuals facing hardships." 

The City of Mission Viejo appreciates Deputy Briggs' vast efforts and commitment to his field.  He will be honored by the City Council in January.

Congratulations! What a difficult and demanding job. I am so glad we have Deputy Briggs being recognized for his outstanding services. What a positive force we have working in our community. Thank you for making such a difference in this world. You are greatly appreciated!
