Election results will be certified and new Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem selected at Dec. 13 meeting
The City Council will host a special meeting at 4:30 pm on December 13 to certify the results of the November General Municipal Election.
According to the Orange County Registrar of Voters, Mission Viejo voters elected Bob Ruesch for District 1, Brian Goodell for District 2, Cynthia Vasquez for District 3, Trish Kelley for District 4 and Wendy Bucknum for District 5.
The Council Members will be officially sworn-in at 5 pm to take their seats on the dais. A new Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem will be selected for a one-year term as part of the Council's annual reorganization.
Council Members will conduct additional business beginning at 6 pm that includes a public hearing to consider an ordinance to adopt the 2022 California Building and Fire Codes, International Pool and Spa Code and the International Property Maintenance Code.
The public is encouraged to attend the meeting that takes place in the Council Chamber at City Hall, 200 Civic Center. Council meetings are streamed live on the City's website and air on Cox Channel 30 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99.

And now there is a "Special Meeting" at 4:30 to create a quorum because Judge Schwarm removed Council Members Bucknum, Raths and Sachs from office because they illegally extended their terms without an election.
Fellow citizens. Please get involved. The prior council was secretive and out of control; and now city administrators are starting off the new council on this foot?
