Free poetry writing workshops this month ahead of new Poetry + Art Collaborative project
The Mission Viejo Library will launch its first annual Mission Viejo Poetry + Art Collaborative, an interactive project that highlights our community’s creativity by bringing people together to engage in literature and art.
Community members aged 10 and older are invited to submit an original poem or create a piece of visual art inspired by one of the poems submitted for the project.

To help kickstart the public's creativity, the library is offering two free workshops focusing on the basics of writing poetry led by local poet and author Cassandra Rendon.
Participants can attend either the March 20 workshop at 6 pm or March 25 at 3 pm in the library’s Storytime Room at 100 Civic Center. Register by emailing LibraryPrograms@cityofmissionviejo.org. (Workshop attendance is not required for the Poetry + Art Collaborative.)
This project is supported by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
