Give a homeless animal a forever home this holiday season
The Mission Viejo Animal Services Center and Dedicated Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) are offering discounted adoption fees for all shelter pets through December 23 for the annual Home for the Holidays Adoption promotion.
Bring joy to your world by adding a pet to your family this holiday season. DAWG is covering the costs of vaccines, spay/neuter surgeries and flea control – meaning approved applicants will only pay the $20 microchip fee for their new furry friend.
Head to the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center during this limited time to meet and fall in love with an adorable dog, cat or bunny.

Can you please disconnect…
Can you please disconnect adoptions (love based) from Christmas gifts (impulsive consumption based) ? Your picture tells it all.
Dozens of shelters across Germany have introduced temporary bans in an effort to stop animals being adopted as Christmas presents, only to be returned to shelters or even dumped as early as Christmas Eve.
Some reflection in this sensitive matter is urgent if respect for animals is your core value.
The Mission Viejo Animal…
The Mission Viejo Animal Services Center has a process in place to mitigate impulsive consumption-based adoptions.
We do not adopt on a first come, first served basis. Potential adopters must come in person, and complete an application. Applications are screened for appropriateness, and what staff has determined through evaluations to be a good fit for both pet, and person before they are approved. The application process is typically completed in a minimum of 3 days, but sometimes more (around a week). Once the animal is ready with proper health care and evaluations, the applicant will be informed that they were approved for adoption or not. We do not adopt if we feel it is not a good fit.
Please note that we take detailed steps in order to make successful adoptions—even at Christmas time.
