Have a blast giving back at 2018 Arts Alive Festival

If you are looking for a fun way to give back to the community, consider volunteering during the 2018 Arts Alive & Street Painting Festival.

This dynamic festival takes places from noon to 5 p.m. April 28-29 at the Oso Viejo Community Park and neighboring Norman P. Murray Community Center, 24932 Veterans Way.

With a “Nature as I See It” theme, this year's festival will feature a cornucopia of fun – arts and crafts vendors, musical performances as well as amazing street paintings brought to life by incredible artists traveling to Mission Viejo from near and far. The two-day event includes tasty fare and beverages along with cool activities for kids.

High school students seeking community service hours and seniors who enjoy interacting with others are sought to help with arts and crafts activities throughout the weekend.  Volunteers will also help at various community booths or with event set-up and take down.  Volunteer shifts are typically 2-4 hours depending on the person’s availability.

Volunteer applications are available at this link and should be emailed to mveventvolunteers@cityofmissionviejo.org. For more information, call 949-470-8470.

Ever since I was on the Holly Jolly Christmas Lights Tour and I sat next to the moderator, I have been very interested in becoming a part of the City of Mission Viejo volunteers, especially in the activities program. I have an extensive background in dealing with the public and can work well with people of all ages. I'm interested in giving back to the city that has become my home town as well as meeting new people. I am a good follower as well as a leader. I work well independently or in a group, with few instructions. My only limitation is that I cannot stand for several hours straight. Sitting and standing is no problem. I am extremely excited about any opportunity you may offer me, and would very much like to become a regular member of the Activities Committee.

Thank you for your consideration!
