I can't find the legal notification is claimed to be in the Saddle Valley News. In fact, I can't find any evidence that the Saddleback Valley News still exists. This is exactly why the public finds it completely difficult to trust the City to inform our citizens of important matters such as the Housing Element.

Thank you for your comment on the News page and interest in participating in the Housing Element process. It seems you have some doubts about publication of the Public Notice for the public hearings on the Housing Element. The Proof of Publication/Affidavit of Publication supplied by the Saddleback Valley News for publishing the Notice of Public Hearings regarding the Housing Element may be viewed through the following link:

https://cityofmissionviejo.org/sites/default/files/SVN-Proof-of-Publica…

If you’d wish to contact them to verify, the office of the Saddleback Valley News is located at 1920 Main Street, Suite 225, Irvine, CA 92614, and you may call them at 714-796-2209.

For something as voluminous as the Housing Element document, the City aims to provide residents with ample time to review the material. The following link will open the Housing Element pages on the City’s website:

Tom raises a great concern. As a follow-up, does the City know what the circulation is for the Saddleback Valley News?
