Insanely popular kids’ author Lemony Snicket makes rare appearance in Mission Viejo May 3 "SOLD OUT"

Community members are invited to a special presentation on May 3 by popular author Lemony Snicket and his illustrator wife Lisa Brown.

This talented duo will discuss their latest collaboration “Goldfish Ghost,” a heartwarming tale about the search for belonging, at 6 p.m. at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way.

Well-loved as the author of the immensely successful books “A Series of Unfortunate Events” (now a Netflix original series), Lemony Snicket brings his signature weird and just a bit unfortunate writing style to “Goldfish Ghost.” Succinct and visually compelling, the combination of Snicket's text with critically acclaimed artist Brown’s warm visual world make this an unforgettable tale geared toward kids ages 3-6. However, Lemony Snicket's devoted fans range in age from 7 to 30-plus and will undoubtedly want to meet him up close and personal, have their books signed and ask some questions.

Snicket is the author of "The Dark," which won the Charlotte Zolotow Award.  His series "All The Wrong Questions" and "A Series of Unfortunate Events" have sold more than 70 million copies and have been translated into 39 languages.

Brown is the New York Times bestselling author/illustrator of several books for young readers including "Boy's Good Night" and "The Latke That Couldn't Stop Screaming.”  She recently illustrated the critically acclaimed "Emily's Blue Period" and "The Airport Book" for Roaring Brook Press.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Mission Viejo Library and A Whale of a Tale Children’s Bookshoppe, this special presentation is part of the library’s 20th anniversary celebration.

Tickets are $20 each and include a copy “Goldfish Ghost” and two admissions. Tickets are limited and available at http://Lemonysnicket.brownpapertickets.com.
