Join our SCOR volunteer program
For the last three decades, Mission Viejo Police Services and the City have valued the great work of the Senior Corps of Retirees (SCOR) volunteers. Dedicated, loyal and selfless, these folks perform many important services that enhance our community's safety - and exemplify volunteerism.
If you've visited the City Hall second floor, you've probably been greeted by a friendly SCOR volunteer. Last year, these volunteers assisted more than 6,000 people.
Along with reception, SCOR volunteers also work the patrol unit. In the last year alone, they completed 731 vacation home checks, removed 1,799 illegally posted signs from City property and reported 89 incidents of graffiti on public and private property. They serve as additional eyes and ears for Police Services and are vested in helping to keep our community safe.
As a group, SCOR volunteers help at many community events like National Night Out, Walk Against Drugs and the 4th of July Street Faire.
SCOR volunteers are 55 and older, retired and reside in the City. If you're interested in this program, contact 949-470-8433 or crimeprevention@cityofmissionviejo.org.
