Kids can learn about being healthy, the importance of exercise and have fun during the quarter- and half-mile race at the Oso Fit 5K Fun Run and Community Health Fair on Saturday, February 24.

The fun takes place at the Norman P. Murray Center, 24932 Veterans Way beginning at 7:30 am.

The Kid's Run - hosted by Spirit League and supported by Children's Cerebral Palsy Movement - begins at 9:15 am with a group warm-up and race at 9:30. This is a fun and inclusive course for kids of all abilities. Kids will run or walk on a flat, safe loop. Your child will gain confidence and a sense of accomplishment when they cross the finish line and receive a fun medal.

New this year - if your child enjoys music and wants some fun tunes to listen to during the race, the Library and Cultural Arts Committee put together a rocking playlist for kids on Freegal Music. To login to Freegal Music, all you need is your library card and pin number. If you don't have a free library card, you can apply online or in person at the library's Circulation Desk. There is also a playlist for adults available here.

Pre-register your child now and one-hundred percent of your pre-registration fee will go to the non-profit of your choice. The half- and quarter-mile fee is $5 and will increase to $7 after 7 pm on Friday, February 16. Online registration closes at 8 pm on February 21, however folks can still register in person at the event.

The Oso Fit 5K Fun Run begins at 8:30 am and the Community Health Fair opens at 7:30 am. The fair is free to attend regardless of one's participation in the Oso Fit races.
