Online survey, assessments will gauge how library can better serve people with disabilities

In an effort to provide more inclusive services to our community, the Mission Viejo Library wants to know how to better serve people with disabilities and launched an online survey to garner essential input.

Working with research consultant Alice Wong of the Disability Visibility Project, the library will utilize the survey and host a series of community conversations and stakeholder and advocate interviews to gather suggestions, ideas and feedback from the public. The input will be part of a final report with recommendations and action items this year.

You can participate in the survey, which ends on March 15, in two ways:

  1. Fill out the survey online at https://cityofmissionviejo.org/access
  2. Request a paper copy or fill out the survey in person at the Mission Viejo Library; Dayle McIntosh Center; or Vocational Visions.

The survey is available in English, Spanish, Farsi and Mandarin.

*For assistance with filling out the survey, visit the library or Dayle McIntosh Center.

This essential feedback will be used to help the library become more accessible and inclusive for all communities. For more information, contact Alice Wong at DisabilityVisibilityProject@gmail.com or Sandy Brimer at sbrimer@cityofmissionviejo.org; 949-830-7100, ext. 5144.

This project is supported in part by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.

This is wonderful. We are a 45 year old organization located in Mission Viejo serving uniquely-abled adults and we will share this link to the survey with our community.
