Free Document Shredding Event postponed to Saturday, Nov. 14
With rain in the forecast for Saturday, the Drive-Through Document Shredding Event has been postponed to November 14.
Hosted by the City and Waste Management, the free drive-through event will take place from 9-11 am in the Mission Viejo City Hall parking lot at 200 Civic Center.
Residents and businesses can bring up to five banker-size file boxes (24" wide x 12" high) of paper records for immediate shredding. Documents and boxes must be free of binders, paper clips, plastic sleeves and metal butterfly clips. (CDs, credit cards, three-ring binders, wire dividers, newspapers, magazines and spiral notebooks will NOT be accepted.)
For safety reasons, folks are asked to wear a face mask and remain in their vehicles until served.

Can I watch as my items are shredded, or, am I required to just drop them off?
You can definitely watch…
You can definitely watch your documents be shredded. Once your materials have been unloaded from the trunk of your car and placed in a 64 gallon trash cart, you can then park in a nearby parking stall and watch the contents of the container be emptied into the shred truck and shredded.

Just wanted to send a much appreciated shout out to whomever developed and administered today’s free shredding event at City Hall. I arrived at 8:40 and shredding was already well under way. The organization was first rate, the progress was fast, I didn’t have to leave my car, and I was all done by 8:50! That is remarkable for a public organization, and, as a resident of Mission Viejo for 30 years, I want to applaud your great efforts. Keep up the good work!!
