'Tis the season to take a cat home for the holidays! During this special adoption promotion, the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center and Dedicated Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) are reducing every adult cat’s adoption fee to only $20 for approved applicants.
With different colors and personalities, many adorable, sweet and fun cats are available to fill your home with love and companionship.
Babs is a sweet 3-year-old domestic shorthaired brown tabby. She treats every day like an easy Sunday morning - lounging around in bed with a cozy blanket and leisurely nibbling on snacks. At nearly 15 pounds, it's safe to say Babs enjoys her food. She can be vocal and engaging when she's looking for some one-on-one time but is typically self-content and easygoing. Her mellow personality would do best in a quiet home.
Help celebrate Adopt a Shelter Cat Month by visiting the cats and kittens at the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center. Millions of cats and kittens nationwide are waiting for their forever homes, including many currently available at the Center.
Here are some ways that you can help cats during this special month:
It's kitten season at the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center where 20 adorable kittens are available for immediate adoption.
In fact, to ensure these friendly felines find good homes faster, Dedicated Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) is sponsoring an adoption promotion so that each kitten is only $20 for approved applicants.
If you are considering adding a loving kitten to your family, now's the time because this promotion ends on June 1.
Rustic is an active, playful and independent 2-year-old cat. This rough-and-tumble boy is curious and adventurous. He loves playing and running around and will entertain himself for hours.
Rustic enjoys the company of people, especially if they have a feather toy in hand. He can get overexcited when he receives too much attention, so he would be happiest in a home without young kids.
Rustic will go home to an approved applicant for only $20, so stop by the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center and meet Rustic today!
Meet Snorkel. He has a funny name because he's a funny dog. Still a pup, this big, goofy 1-year-old shepherd mix will steal your heart with his playful antics and loving demeanor. Snorkel loves toys and will grab one in his mouth, roll over and beg for you to play with him. Weighing 72 pounds, he's a big pup who runs like a pony, so his new family will need ample room and be able to exercise him at least once a day. Snorkel needs to learn some manners, so his new family will receive a free training package to start him out on the right paw.
Meet Ruby – the fun, energetic and loving dog you’ve been looking for!
Ruby is a 2-year-old brindle boxer mix who loves walks, chasing toys and lying down with people. She is perfect for an active family who will commit to helping her release her energy every day. She does well with other large dogs but would thrive in a home without small animals. She could still use some leash training and will go home with a special training package.
Looking for a lap dog who will give you his undivided attention? If so, Nigel is the pup for you.
This affectionate 5-year-old Chihuahua/whippet mix loves to cuddle and wants nothing more than to spend the entire day by your side. He has just the right amount of energy to enjoy a daily walk or hike, but he also enjoys spending time with his family on the couch.
Patricia is a beautiful 2-year-old long-haired diluted calico kitty with a calm demeanor. She was relinquished to the shelter by her former owner who was relocating and could not bring her along.
She is now our longest resident and is eagerly awaiting a new home. Despite her long fur, Patricia is extremely low maintenance. She enjoys her daily brushes and lounging around on the cat tree or her bed. She has no problem being held and even sits still for nail trims. She has a healthy appetite for life and cat food alike and loves to chit chat with visitors.Â
Abbie is a 6-year-old German shepherd with a story to tell. Last September, she was found emaciated and close to death on a country road in California Hot Springs about 40 miles from Bakersfield. A Good Samaritan nursed her back to health and patiently searched for Abbie’s owner but to no avail.Â
