Roxy is a beautiful 2-year-old Bull Terrier mix. By breed, Bull Terriers are known to be playful and spirited companions that thrive with affection and exercise.

Tommy, a 3-year-old black pit-bull mix, looks tough but is a total sweetheart.  Tommy adores other dogs and is our star meet-and-greet dog when we want to introduce a new dog to a friend.  On leash, Tommy is extremely responsive and motivated by treats, making him incredibly easy to train.  He is a gentle and sensitive dog who will make a wonderful addition to any family. He is always happy to see a smiling face and ready for any adventure that awaits him.

Meet sweet 1-year-old Dalton, the perfect mix between a German Shepherd and Australian Kelpie.  Both breeds are extremely intelligent and loyal.

Did you miss the recent Reptiles and Ice Cream event at the City?  Are you curious about what may be slithering around the local area?

Not to worry, as the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center is here for assistance and stands ready “to help people learn how to identify snakes that are venomous versus a snake that’s not venomous,” according to Manager Michelle Claud-Clemente.  A new MVTV News video on the subject provides tips on how to prepare for potential encounters.

What does it take to be a gentleman?  A gentleman is confident, not arrogant.  He proves chivalry is not dead. He never judges, always looks good – and knows how to dance. If you’re searching for the perfect gentleman, meet 10-year-old Arthur.

The Mission Viejo Animal Services Center and Dedicated Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) are offering discounted adoption fees for all shelter pets through December 23 for the annual Home for the Holidays Adoption promotion.

Bring joy to your world by adding a pet to your family this holiday season. DAWG is covering the costs of vaccines, spay/neuter surgeries and flea control – meaning approved applicants will only pay the $20 microchip fee for their new furry friend.

A wayward duck went on its merry way after being rescued from netting high above a skate park.

On Monday, Mission Viejo Animal Services received several reports from concerned citizens about a duck that had flown into the netting at the Laguna Niguel Skate and Soccer Park on Alicia Parkway.

Spark is 3-year-old big bloodhound/German shepherd mix who came from an overcrowded animal shelter in the Inland Empire that asked the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center for help.

Shortly after arriving at our shelter, Spark was diagnosed with an extremely uncomfortable condition known as Entropion – it’s when your eyelashes roll into your eyes.  So, the Dedicated Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) stepped up and paid for the surgery that fixed the condition. Today, Spark is a whole new dog – clear vision and all.

In honor of this week’s designation as National Poison Prevention week, the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center is alerting pet owners of some common household items that can pose a risk to their furry family members.

Kelsey and Cookie’s people unfortunately lost their home, so now these two sweet sisters are homeless.

Luckily, their owners thought enough about their safety to bring them to the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center, where they are waiting to find another loving home to call their own.
