Mission Viejo City Council

When the City Council reconvenes after the holidays, Greg Raths will serve as Mayor and Brian Goodell as Mayor Pro Tem for 2019. The Council Members were selected for the one-year posts during the City Council’s annual reorganization on Tuesday.

During the meeting, re-elected Council Members Ed Sachs, Wendy Bucknum and Greg Raths were sworn in for 2-year terms.

Mission Viejo voters re-elected Council Members Ed Sachs, Greg Raths and Wendy Bucknum to office, according to the "unofficial" election results from the Registrar of Voters.

The Council Members will take the Oath of Office on December 11 to serve two-year terms. All five Mission Viejo City Council seats will be up for re-election in November 2020. During the December 11 meeting, the Council will select a new Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem for 2019. Ed Sachs has served as Mayor and Greg Raths as Mayor Pro Tem this year.

Five candidates are now officially lined up for three open Mission Viejo City Council seats in November. The deadline to file papers ended on August 10.
