Josh Stevens – a singer-songwriter who has worked with Calvin Harris, Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull – will encourage Mission Viejo youth to stay drug-free during the annual Walk Against Drugs on Saturday, October 21.

A special episode of “South County SportsZone” is now airing featuring highlights from the Mission Armed Forces event and a moving story about a Mission Viejo High School graduate whose heart now beats inside Angels’ Hall of Fame legend Rod Carew.

With the holiday season on the horizon, the City of Mission Viejo is now accepting applications for holiday or seasonal displays at the southwest and northwest corners of the intersection at La Paz Road and Chrisanta Drive.

Mission Viejo’s “Four Corners Holiday Display” is a longtime celebration in the City that captures the essence of the holidays and spirit of the community.

Martial Arts
New Brazilian Jiu Jitsu studio Ralph Gracie Jiu Jitsu opened its doors this past month at 26861 Trabuco Road. The studio’s mission is to help students build confidence, learn practical self-defense skills and compete at their level. As part of an ongoing effort to educate residents in emergency preparedness, the City of Mission Viejo is offering detailed information through the Emergency Survival Program (ESP).  This guide features monthly topics, historical information and what you can do now to prepare. October’s focus is on earthquakes.

Flags at City of Mission Viejo buildings will continue to fly at half-staff this week out of respect for the victims whose lives were taken by the violence perpetrated in Las Vegas on Sunday, October 1. 

In accordance with a proclamation issued by President Donald Trump, the flags will remain at half-staff through sunset October 6.

The City of Mission Viejo's Drug Prevention Coalition will promote the "Monitor, Secure and Destroy" campaign throughout October as part of ongoing efforts to prevent drug abuse in the community.

Beginning October 2, detailed information about the proper way to dispose of unwanted and expired prescription medications will be available at City Hall, the Mission Viejo Library, Norman P. Murray Center and recreation centers as well as local doctors' offices, pharmacies and businesses.
