Norman P. Murray Center

The Orange County Coastkeeper is inviting Mission Viejo residents to a free “Firescape” Workshop on Thursday, August 29 from 7-9 pm at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way.

With record rainfall this past year, Orange County is bracing for an extreme fire season. The workshop will teach folks how to create a fire-wise garden and defensible space for their homes. It will also cover which plants are less likely to burn and how to maintain current landscaping for fire control.

Tickets are now available for this year’s Winter Gala on Monday, December 3.

This festive evening is from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Norman P. Murray Center and features a traditional holiday meal, dancing to the sounds of 10-piece Big Band Close Harmony and much more.

Sport your favorite seasonal garb and bring a camera to capture your holiday card as well as receive a special memento.
