I was at Pavilions on Marguerite at 8am yesterday, There were more non-seniors than seniors, and so far as I could tell--seniors got NO extra help, consideration or privileges, So where is the benefit?. I was told to pack my own bags if I didn't want to pay extra for the store's bags. I packed my own bags... And I was told this was to protect the workers from (my) customer’s germs. This was said as 2 cashier/packers breathed 2 ft away from me. I'll be 79 June 30 but felt intimidated.

I appreciate the stores opening early for seniors. I know some younger people shop for older family members, so keep that in mind. If the food supply broke down, we'd be hysterical... give thanks to the workers & drivers.

Yes, much thanks and appreciation should be given to those store clerks who have been working relentlessly, and politely during this unnerving time. We as customers should be polite and courteous also.

I went to Walmart in Rancho Santa Margarita today (Thursday) for the senior hours and it was closed. A sign on the door says that senior hours are 6-7am on Tuesday only.

This article was helpful. However, during the past 2 weeks, several of the stores have revised their hours, as well as other parameters. For example, at Trader Joe's a Senior is 60+, not 65+, and the hours for this group is 8 am - 9 am daily, (not 9-10 am as previously reported). It might be nice to have this information updated weekly, as this pandemic is causing our local retailers to make adjustments more frequently.

We have tried several times in the last three weeks to do online and pick up orders at Pavilions, Whole foods and Ralph’s. No luck there. Went to Pavillions during senior hours and couldn’t even find cornstarch. So it seems that grocers are still having issues keeping shelves stocked. Wee too found several no seniors in line during senior hours. Hopefully they are all shopping for senior family.

Thank you for trying to provide accurate information. If the purpose of "senior hours" is to give seniors (I'm over 75) the chance to be exposed to fewer people who may be infected or carriers, it's not working. When I was in a store during senior hours last week, the store was FULL of clearly younger people. We don't have a choice---our immune systems are weaker than theirs, but they have a choice to be considerate. The stores are letting anyone come in at any hour. Please clarify for seniors who think they are safe.
