Governor says State will consider six critical indicators before changing stay-at-home orders

Governor Gavin Newsom this week unveiled six key indicators that will guide our state’s thinking for when and how to modify the stay-at-home and other orders during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Governor noted the progress in flattening the curve; however, any consideration of modifying the stay-at-home order must be done using a gradual, science-based and data-driven framework.

He pointed out that until we build immunity to the virus, the state’s actions will be aligned to achieve these objectives.  The state’s six indicators for modifying the stay-at-home order are:

  • The ability to monitor and protect our communities through testing, contact tracing, isolating and supporting those who are positive or exposed;
  • The ability to prevent infection in people who are at risk for more severe COVID-19;
  • The ability of the hospital and health systems to handle surges;
  • The ability to develop therapeutics to meet the demand;
  • The ability for businesses, schools, and childcare facilities to support physical distancing; and
  • The ability to determine when to reinstitute certain measures, such as the stay-at-home orders, if necessary.

There is no specific timeline for modifying the stay-at-home order, Governor Newsom said, but these six indicators will serve as the framework for making that decision.

Remember to do your part to flatten the curve.

What is our mayor doing for residents that are out of jobs and paying rent and soon will be out of money and a roof over their heads.

These State governors derive their powers from the "consent of the governed", (We The People), and since their governance has gone rogue, it is our duty to "alter or abolish it". Join citizen groups to sue your state officials, support sincere organizations like Judicial Watch, vote out your governor, email and phone pressure Congressmen, email the White House, make your own protest sign and walk it/drive it through your town on your way to groceries. Pray but also take action!

Can Mission Viejo pass a resolution to end self isolation and open our businesses now? We did it for California's sanctuary state mistake.

What will the city do to protect our privacy from big tech and the State of California? Contact tracking only works when everyone's movements and location are tracked.

What can the city do to remove a Coronavirus vaccine as a requirement? Not many people or business will survive until a cure is found next year.

What can Orange County elected officials do differently that Los Angeles? We are different.

Can the city request that Congress not wait until May 4 to get back to work?

Testing for COVID-19 previously was less than 1 percent in Orange County. After months, we just have barely tested 1 percent in Orange County at the end of April. If you want consumers to feel safe to go to businesses, we need to get routine testing so that when people feel sick they know to isolate themselves. What is Mission Viejo doing to get more COVID-19 testing performed on its citizens?

Governor Newsom is looking into re-opening parts of California.
What plans is Mission Viejo putting into place to allow the reopening of some business with social distancing in mind?
