The City Council on Tuesday recognized the Little League Challenger team, members of the City’s adopted Marines and approved the purchase of Mission Viejo’s first electronic vehicle (EV) fleet truck.

The City Council on Tuesday, September 24 will recognize the Little League District 68 Challenger team and adopted Marines for outstanding efforts as well as consider purchasing an electric vehicle (EV) fleet truck.

The business part of the meeting starts at 6 pm in the Council Chamber at 200 Civic Center.

The City Council on Tuesday received an update on the Airport Fire by Orange County Fire Authority Division Chief Cheyne Maule, and Emergency Operations Manager Paul Catsimanes and Animal Services Supervisor Brynn Lavison detailed the City’s efforts, response and public outreach.  

On the November 5 Presidential General Election ballot, Mission Viejo voters will consider an increase to the Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) charged to out-of-town guests staying at the City’s hotels and short-term rentals. An increase to the TOT, commonly known as a “hotel tax” or “bed tax,” will only be used to fund the City’s police services, emergency response and infrastructure and would bring the City’s low TOT rate in line with other Orange County cities.

The City Council on Tuesday approved a move to help residents and businesses with continuing and obtaining fire and casual property insurance as well as an agreement with Pacific Symphony for more performances, among other business.

Election Representatives play an important role in helping people throughout Orange County vote easily and securely. In addition, they help people solve voter registration issues, provide replacement ballots and general assistance.
