The Garden + Grille will host live music by the 5150’s from 5:30 to 7:30 pm on Friday, June 23.

The 5150’s band plays a mix of classic rock of the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s. This high energy, popular group has been a fixture in Orange County music for more than 25 years.

Cocktails and a music night menu will be available for purchase in this outdoor, garden-vibe setting. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

The City will celebrate its 35th anniversary at this year’s Symphony in the Cities and Prelude in the Park on Saturday, August 5 on the Village Green at Oso Viejo Community Park, 24932 Veterans Way.

With an “Under the Sea” theme, this year’s Symphony in the Cities includes the Children’s Musical Playground and Prelude in the Park from 4 to 7 pm followed by the concert at 7 pm.

The community is rallying around a local baseball coach who has made an indelible mark on Mission Viejo.  

Capistrano Valley baseball coach and teacher Adam Sorgi is battling a rare form of cancer and undergoes major surgery on Thursday.   

Since his recent diagnosis with peritoneal mesothelioma, family, friends, players, students and others have been uniting to help support the beloved coach who has touched countless lives.   

The City Council on Tuesday discussed “LOS OSOS” Core Area concepts, set General Fund target and minimum reserve levels, and awarded a 2023-24 agreement for law enforcement services, among other business.

The City Council on Tuesday, May 23 will receive a presentation about Core Area Vision Plan LOS OSOS concepts, review a 2023-24 agreement for law enforcement services, as well as consider General Fund target and minimum reserve levels, among other business.   

The business portion of the meeting starts at 6 pm in the Council Chamber at 200 Civic Center.    

The second annual Father's Day Golf Tournament returns to Oso Creek Golf Course on Sunday, June 18. 

Enjoy the day on the greens with dad, family or friends. The entry fee is $100 per player and includes greens' fee with a cart, a breakfast burrito, awards ceremony, barbecue lunch, and one 20% off coupon for one item at the Pro Shop valid only on Father's Day. 

Tickets for mulligans and the long putt contest will also be available for purchase.

Public input is sought at the Community Services Commission’s May 16 meeting about a new community communication campaign showcasing the Core Area Vision Plan concept. The community opportunity follows recent presentations at the City Council and Planning and Transportation Commission meetings.
