The City Council on Tuesday discussed the importance of water safety and received a presentation about children’s mental health, among other business. 

Join the Mission Viejo Nadadores for the TYR Pro Swim Series at the Marguerite Aquatics Complex May 17-20.

The TYR Pro Swim Series provides fans and local communities with a first-class spectator experience as swimmers from around the globe compete in preparation for their run to summer championship meets. 

High school students and parents are invited to attend an anti-hazing workshop at 6 pm on May 17 at the Norman P. Murray Community Center, 24932 Veterans Way. 

Applications are available for the City’s Voluntary Wellness Check program – designed for residents 60 and older and people of any age with special needs.   

To make life safer and more reassuring during times of local and regional emergencies, this voluntary City program is managed with support from Community Emergency Preparedness Academy (CEPA) volunteers.  

The City Council on Tuesday received a presentation of a new community communication campaign showcasing the Core Area Vision Plan concept, reviewed a report regarding the Capital Improvement Project budget, and heard an update about e-bikes, among other business. 

Hundreds of elite athletes will descend on Lake Mission Viejo for the annual Orange County Triathlon on Sunday, April 30.

This Olympic-distance event traverses Mission Viejo neighborhoods and surrounding communities and includes a 1.5K swim in Lake Mission Viejo. Athletes then ride along the 40K bike course through Santiago Canyon, with part of the race crossing the 1984 Olympic finish line near the lake. Other events include an Aquathon and Duathlon.

The City Council on Tuesday, April 25 will receive a presentation about an exciting new community communication campaign as well as consider a report regarding the Capital Improvement Project budget, among other business.  

The business portion of the meeting starts at 6 pm in the Council Chamber at 200 Civic Center.   

Mission Viejo has rolled out a new community communication campaign – “COME PLAY IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD” – to connect the community to exciting information, events, and current and future details about the heart of Mission Viejo. 

The Mission Viejo Diversity + Inclusion Task Force volunteers will host a Multicultural Medley event on Saturday, April 22 at the North Paseo.

The fun takes place from 5-8 pm at 25282 Marguerite Parkway.

Join Oso Creek Golf staff on Friday, May 5 from 5:30-7:30 pm for a sensational Cinco de Mayo celebration.

Mariachi Nuevo Jalisciense will entertain and take requests in the Garden + Grille - a fun new outdoor garden-vibe eatery located right on the course with picturesque views.
