To help end the pandemic and protect you, your loved ones and those around you, the County and State are encouraging everyone who can to register for the COVID-19 vaccine.  

La Paz Road at the I-5 will be fully closed weeknights from 11 pm to 5 am beginning Monday, March 22 and lasting through Friday, April 2, according to the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA). Closures, which are weather permitting, are necessary to remove temporary structures for the new northbound I-5 loop on-ramp bridge over La Paz Road.

Motorists should expect delays and avoid the area if possible.

The work is part of the I-5 South County Improvement Project.

Mission Viejo youth struggling with mental health issues are invited to tune in to a new podcast - "It's Okay to Feel" - that provides listeners with inspiring stories to embrace their feelings and mental well-being.

The podcasts are by the nonprofit NAMI Orange County, which provides emotional support, education and resources for families throughout the region addressing every aspect of mental health at no cost to the community.

If you are looking for a new exciting job, now's your chance. Oso Creek Golf Course is hosting a special Job Fair March 22-26. 

An array of full- and part-time jobs are available for the new restaurant coming on tap this spring at the beautiful City golf course.  

Available positions include cooks, dishwashers, line cooks, servers, hostesses as well as golf cart attendants, beverage car attendants and Birdie Bar hostesses. 

Effective Sunday, March 14, Orange County will move into the Red Tier of the State's Blueprint for a Safer Economy after having met Red Tier metrics, according to a County press release. As a result, many local businesses and activities in Orange County will either be allowed to expand capacity or resume operations.

The Mission Viejo Activities Committee is accepting applications from high school seniors for its annual Volunteerism Scholarship Program. 

Up to five $1,000 scholarships could be awarded to high school seniors who demonstrate exceptional character and dedication to volunteerism.  

Businesses and job seekers are invited to take part in the South Orange County Virtual Job Fair 2021 from 10 am to 2 pm on April 7.

Hosted by Orange County Supervisor Lisa Bartlett, Orange County Community Services and the Orange County Workforce Development Board, the South Orange County Virtual Job Fair is free and includes preparation training and more. Job seekers can safely network with employers remotely and get interviewed through chat and video conference.

New to roses or need a refresher? Learn the basics of rose care from the Rose Society of Saddleback Mountain (RSSM) during a virtual Zoom presentation on Tuesday, March 16 at 6:30 pm.

During the Oso Creek Golf Course and Public Space Virtual Workshop on March 11, residents will learn about project alternatives and have the chance to provide input on the City's Vision Plan.

Interested in learning more about the state of our City? Then tune in to a free online event sponsored by the Mission Viejo Chamber of Commerce as a part of its Community and Legislative Affairs Update series. Featuring Mayor Trish Kelley, the virtual program is from 8-9 am on Thursday, March 11.

Mayor Kelley will give a presentation about Mission Viejo with local, state and federal officials also providing important updates.
