Next time you stop by the Mission Viejo Library, check out a display of antique and vintage Kodak cameras.

The Eastman Kodak Company, founded by George Eastman and Henry A. Strong, released its first camera in 1888. The name Kodak rapidly became one of the most recognizable brands in the world, synonymous with cameras and film for nearly 100 years.

With an increased number of City staff recently testing positive for COVID-19 - as cases continue to spike in California - the Mission Viejo Library's hours are being adjusted to available staffing levels.

Out of an abundance of caution, the City is also canceling indoor programming, suspending passport walk-in services and closing the bookstore and genealogy desk.

This event has been canceled.

The Mission Viejo Library is teaming up with local nonprofit Science Heads to host an official NASA James Webb Space Telescope First Images program on Saturday, July 23 from 6 to 8 pm in the City Hall Council Chamber at 200 Civic Center.

Shop for bargains galore at the Friends of the Library's Summer Book Sale July 8-9.

Boasting thousands of nearly new materials for all ages, the sale is from 1-4:30 pm on Friday, July 8 and 10 am to 4 pm the following day near the entrance of the library at 100 Civic Center.

Catering to all ages, the sale features children's, art, craft, gardening, signed and coffee-table books and cookbooks as well as DVDs and CDs. Prices mostly range from $.50 to $2, and cash and credit cards will be accepted for payment.

Join the Mission Viejo Library at Pub Thirty-Two for a discussion of "Think Again: The Power Of Knowing What You Don't Know" by Adam Grant.

Food and beverages may be purchased individually.

This book group will meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month.
